Biography
Jerome Dumortier joined the O’Neill School at IU Indianapolis in August 2011 after receiving his Ph.D. in Economics from Iowa State University. In general, his research assesses the short- and long-term effects of climate change, policy, and macroeconomics on agriculture, energy, transportation, and the environment, especially in relationship with land-use change, bioenergy, and future climate projections. His forward-looking research uses simulation models to evaluate public policy, which aims to reduce carbon emissions while satisfying food, energy, and transportation demand. Currently, Dr. Dumortier focuses on the future of bioenergy in the United States and globally given efforts to decarbonize the road and aviation sector. At the O’Neill School, he teaches economics, statistics, and public finance courses.
