B.S. Community and Organizational Leadership Degree Requirements

The Bachelor of Science in Community and Organizational Leadership (COLS) will help you develop practical leadership skills, organizational and community understanding, and specialized knowledge to step into supervisory or leadership roles in public, private, nonprofit, and community organizations. The COLS B.S. degree requires 120 credit hours in five main areas: I. IU Indianapolis Common Core, II. O’Neill School requirements, III. COLS Major Core requirements, IV. COLS elective requirements.

I. IU Indianapolis College Core (30 Credits)

  • Core Communication (6 cr.)
  • Analytical Reasoning (MATH-M 118 or higher, SPEA-K 300)
  • Life/Physical Sciences (6 cr.)
  • Cultural Understanding (3 cr.); Arts&Humanities (3-6 cr.)
  • Social Sciences (3-6 cr.).

II. O'Neill School Required Courses (12-18 Credits)
